Sanskruti Samvardhan Pratishthan (SSP) was established in 2003 in Mumbai under the visionary leadership of Founder Shri Mohan Salekar, who has always been deeply engaged in social and cultural work. During his visits to various households and communities, he observed a growing concern—while children carried Sanatani names and family identities, their thoughts, behaviours, and influences were increasingly shaped by Western culture, often distancing them from Bharatiya values and traditions.

This realization became the seed of Sanskruti Samvardhan Prathisthan. Along with a group of like-minded individuals, Shri Mohan Salekar conceptualized an organisation dedicated to value-based education rooted in Sanatan Sanskar. As a first step, he developed simple yet meaningful story-based learning resources, designed to naturally instil moral values and cultural awareness among children. With this vision, the Value Education Project (VEP) was initiated.

The early years were challenging. Convincing schools and principals about the importance of moral education alongside academics required patience, clarity, and persistence. To address this, SSP began organizing structured workshops for teachers, focusing on two core aspects:

Why value education is essential for students? and
How it can be practically and effectively implemented within schools?

These consistent efforts soon began to bear fruit. In the very first year, 113 schools across Maharashtra enrolled in the project—an encouraging milestone that strengthened the organisation’s resolve.

Over the past 22 years, SSP has grown steadily through unwavering commitment, grassroots engagement, and strong partnerships with schools and educators. Today, the Value Education Project is actively implemented across 23 states, reaching over 4,50,000 students from more than 4,300 schools.

In the Konkan Prant alone, during the academic year 2025–26, 804 schools and 1,03,457 students have enrolled in the programme—reflecting the trust, relevance, and impact SSP continues to build year after year.

From a small initiative rooted in concern to a nationwide movement of nurturing young minds through Sanskar, SSP’s journey continues—steadfast, evolving, and committed to shaping a culturally grounded future generation.
